EMDR Therapy for Trauma, Anxiety, Shame, and Relationship Challenges
Some experiences stay with us long after they've ended.

You may find yourself constantly overthinking, feeling on edge in relationships, struggling with self-doubt, or reacting in ways that don't fully make sense to you.

These patterns often have deeper roots than most people realize.

As an EMDR-trained therapist, I specialize in helping individuals process traumatic experiences, heal from painful relationship wounds, and break free from cycles of anxiety, shame, and self-criticism. I also work with couples who want to better understand their patterns, strengthen emotional connection, and navigate conflict more effectively.

When individuals feel emotionally unsafe, they may turn to ways of coping that provide temporary relief that may impact them negatively in other ways. Some clients resort to self-harm, isolation, or addictive behaviors. Others withdraw from close relationships or struggle to feel connected with those around them. Many describe feeling stuck in the tension of wanting to change and wanting to stay in what feels familiar. This tension can be frustrating and confusing.
Therapy with me is a calm, nonjudgmental space where you are free to share your honest thoughts, even the ones that can feel shameful or hard to articulate. In a typical session, we will explore the context of your experiences, gently process the emotions attached to them, and reflect on the patterns you may have developed. My style is gentle, emotion-focused, and trauma-informed.

You May Be a Good Fit If...

✔ You replay conversations in your head long after they've ended.
✔ You are often harder on yourself than you are on anyone else.
✔ You struggle to set boundaries without feeling guilty.
✔ You feel stuck in the same relationship patterns
✔ You carry experiences from the past that still affect how you see yourself, trust others, or respond to stress.
✔ You feel pulled between cultural, family, spiritual, or personal expectations.
✔ You understand your struggles logically, but still feel emotionally stuck.

Couples Therapy

I believe therapy works best when you feel both understood and challenged. My goal is to create a space where you can be honest about what you're carrying while developing the insight, tools, and confidence needed to create meaningful change. As a Korean American therapist, I am particularly interested in the ways culture, family experiences, identity, and faith can shape our emotional lives and relationships.

Faith
Faith can be an important agent of healing for some, while for others, it might be the root of trauma and hurt. If you would like to integrate faith into our sessions, I welcome the work of the Spirit into our work together. The secure love and abundant grace of God can be a comfort to believers throughout their therapy journey.
I also understand that religion may be a complicated topic for some. I provide a safe space for the clients who may have experienced hurt or confusion from religious environments and allow the client to initiate application of faith into our sessions, if they would like to do so. Therapy is a space where you can openly share your beliefs, doubts, and wrestlings without fear of judgment.

Considering Therapy

If you have been considering seeking therapy but feel unsure of where to start, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

Beginning therapy can bring up many different feelings, and you do not have to navigate those feelings alone. When you are ready to begin, I look forward to meeting with you.
