Does this sound like you?
Every story is different. These are a few of the things people often carry into our first conversation.
“I’m tired of holding it all together.”
On the outside you’re serving and showing up. Inside, it’s anxiety, heaviness, or panic that won’t lift.
“I thought I’d be over this by now.”
A loss, a betrayal, or something traumatic still shows up in your body, your sleep, and the way you brace around people.
“I keep ending up in the same place.”
The same fight, the same shutdown, the same people-pleasing, even after you’ve prayed about it and promised yourself this time would be different.
“God feels far, and I’m afraid to say it.”
You believe, but you can’t feel it the way you used to, or the way others seem to. Maybe church hurt is part of that story, too.
THROUGH AN ATTACHMENT LENS
Your story shapes how you experience love
Our earliest relationships quietly teach us what to expect when we reach for someone. Will they come? Will I be too much? Do I have to earn it? Those lessons don’t stay in childhood. They show up in marriage, in friendships, in how we treat ourselves, and sometimes in how we experience God.
—
WHAT YOU MAY HAVE LEARNED
Love had to be earned.
HOW IT CAN SHOW UP NOW
You only feel okay when you’re performing well, and rest feels like something you haven’t earned yet.
—
WHAT YOU MAY HAVE LEARNED
Big feelings were too much.
HOW IT CAN SHOW UP NOW
You share the tidy version and keep the hard parts to yourself, even with the people closest to you.
—
WHAT YOU MAY HAVE LEARNED
People weren’t always safe.
HOW IT CAN SHOW UP NOW
Part of you stays braced, even with people who love you, waiting for the moment it changes.
These aren’t character flaws or a lack of faith. They’re attachment patterns, and attachment can heal.
WHAT’S HAPPENING UNDERNEATH
Healing with grace, not shame
The way you shut down, over-function, people-please, or brace for the worst made sense once. It kept you safe, or kept you connected to people you needed. These patterns aren’t proof that something is wrong with you. They’re protection that has outlasted its purpose.
In therapy, we don’t treat them as flaws to fix. We get curious about the fear underneath them, and the longing underneath the fear. For many people of faith, shame can even sound spiritual, and part of the work is learning to tell conviction, which draws you toward connection, from condemnation, which pushes you into hiding.
How therapy helps
Our team is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a research-backed approach built on attachment science. It works with emotion directly, so change is felt, not just understood.
APPROACHES WE USE: EFT · EMDR · ATTACHMENT-BASED · FAITH-INTEGRATED
01
Name the pattern
Notice the moments you shut down, push harder, or go numb, and what sets them off, in your relationships and in how you treat yourself.
02
Find the feelings underneath
Beneath anger or numbness there’s often hurt, fear, or grief that never had a safe place to land. We slow down and make room for it.
03
Heal what’s still stuck
For painful or traumatic memories, EMDR can help them lose their grip on the present, so the past stops running the show.
04
Build secure connection
Practice reaching for others and letting yourself be cared for, until security feels real, not just understood.
How faith fits into our sessions
Faith-based support looks different everywhere. Here's what it looks like with us.
—
You set the pace
Bring your faith into the room as much or as little as you’d like. Some clients talk about it every week; others mention it once.
—
We talk about it honestly
Your prayer life, a verse you hold onto, what you were taught about God, a hard church experience: all of it is part of your story, and we’re glad to explore it with you.
—
Grounded in clinical care
Every session is led by a licensed or associate marriage and family therapist. Your faith shapes the conversation; evidence-based care shapes the method.

A NOTE FROM KELLEY
I met Jesus before my season of panic attacks and depression. In my hardest days, I cried out to God and held onto scripture, and I was frustrated that I couldn’t just do what He wanted and feel better.
I grew up believing tears were weakness, so the first time I cried in therapy, it hurt. Slowly, I learned that tears mean something hurts, or something matters.
Therapy didn’t replace my faith. It helped me understand my story, and the more I understood, the deeper God’s grace felt. That’s the kind of space we hope to offer you.
