Behold Counseling
Marriage & Family Therapy
Associate Opportunities
Grow with Behold Counseling
At Behold Counseling, we believe healing happens through emotionally safe relationships. Our work is rooted in attachment theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), with an emphasis on slowing down, deepening emotional experience, and helping clients create lasting change.
We are passionate about developing thoughtful clinicians who want more than simply completing their licensure hours. We hope to cultivate therapists who are committed to clinical excellence, lifelong learning, and building meaningful careers in private practice.

Our Clinical Philosophy
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) serves as a primary framework within our practice. We value therapy that is emotionally attuned, experiential, and rooted in the belief that meaningful change happens through connection, safety, and secure relationships.
We seek therapists who are comfortable slowing down, remaining emotionally present, and trusting the therapeutic process. Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, we strive to help clients experience deeper transformation that extends beyond the therapy room.

Hold a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field.

-
Be open to supervision, ongoing feedback, and continual professional development.

-
Maintain a reflective clinical practice by regularly considering their own therapeutic process and areas for growth.

Be dependable, prepared, and committed to providing high-quality, emotionally attuned care.
-
Each associate should be willing to present one 10-15 minute video recording of a counseling session per year during your associateship to support clinical growth
A Desire to Learn Emotionally Focused Therapy
Previous training in Emotionally Focused Therapy is not required.
However, we are looking for clinicians who are genuinely interested in developing an attachment-based, experiential approach to therapy and who desire to pursue formal EFT training as part of their professional growth. Associates should be willing to complete an EFT Externship and/or EFIT training as they continue developing their clinical identity.
We believe investing in high-quality training ultimately allows us to provide deeper and more effective care for the clients we serve.
Building a Sustainable Private Practice
At Behold Counseling, we believe that becoming an excellent clinician also includes learning how to build a sustainable private practice.
Associates are encouraged and supported in developing their own referral networks and professional presence. We believe learning to cultivate a thriving private practice is an important part of becoming an independent clinician.
Building a successful caseload is a shared investment. While Behold Counseling provides support through referrals, mentorship, marketing guidance, and practice resources, associates are expected to actively participate in growing their own professional presence and cultivating referral relationships within the community.
We value clinicians who are motivated to invest in both their clinical development and the long-term success of their practice.
